Hello Everyone!
Like most of you, I have been crazy busy lately. I was fortunate enough to miss Country Jam, but I made up for it with a few long bike rides and a great escape to Ouray. Has anyone been to the mining tour there (the Bachelor/Syracuse mine)? It is so cool! You actually ride a tram 1800' back into the mountain and listen to the tour there.
I'm back into classes so I won't be able to respond as easily this next week, but I do want everyone to know that I have read your comments and done a lot of laughing along the way. It's good to see that our big family hasn't changed.
Anyway, we actually had a pretty high participation this week. I heard from a lot of people via my e-mail. We'll need to find an easier blog site next year as many people are having trouble signing in each time.

u should do an extra credit that has to do with horses, or, better yet, let me write one for u and i wont answer it but it would be awesome becuz there is a lot of math involved when u decide how close to turn on a barrel in br or when to turn at the cone in showmanship and how close to the fence to jump in show jumping and lots of other horse stuff.
speaking of horses, my sister's horse is a brat. it almost ran me over on purpose. funny how the horse will reflect its owners personality. i wonder if i could teach Chance to do algebra...

helllllloooooo???? i just back from swimming, and charlie and some other kid was there, messing with some wasps, and they were being pansys....so i went up to the wasp nest, and they threw a ball at it, and all the wasps came out, and i just stood there, and they ran like girls, and ya. it was pretty funny. so for all of u guys that think girls are pansys, shut up. lol

Nice job, Neigh. So, for those of you that didn't follow Neigh's thinking (I would include myself in that category...), here's how I did it using unit analysis:
Start with Km/Min which is 48.6 Km/53.6 min then convert from Km to Miles by multiplying by .621 Mi/ 1 Km so then the Km cancel out and you are left with miles per minute. Then you multiply by 60 min/ 1 hour and the minutes cancel out and you are left with miles per hour! It's all coming back, right?
So, even more important than Neigh's correct answer is that Team Discovery was WINNING the TTT (but had dropped down to 5 guys) when one of them blew out a rear tire and they had to wait for him to switch it out and then get back up to speed (because they are timed on the 5th person's time) so they ended up coming in 4th....
Anyway, put a +5 on your paper Neigh. Well done. Can you imagine sustaining almost 34 m.p.h. for an hour? Maybe if I were going down a hill...
